Growing up, I played multiple sports but I’ve always been around the cheer industry as well. My brother, Mitch Budlong, was part of Lewisville Bell Crew at Lewisville High School, a group that consisted of male cheerleaders. My family would always attend the competitions that he would go to in Orlando, FL. He attended the University of Kentucky
and received a full ride scholarship. This influenced me and brought my attention to the possibilities that cheer provided. At that point, I decided to drop playing football and join the cheer team my sophomore year. I continued cheering all the way through my senior year where I became captain. My squad has attended UCA summer camps and competed at UCA regional, state, and nationals competitions. My senior year, I was offered an application to work for UCA (Universal Cheerleading Association). I tried out, made it, and currently am still working UCA summer camps. I’ve also competed at the all star level at Excite Cheer and Gym and Maverick All Stars. After high school, I cheered and competed at Weatherford College and Texas Tech University.
